GEORGETOWN, MD. – August 31, 2026 – SVN Marinas, a national brokerage platform specializing in marina and waterfront investment sales, announced the sale of Skipjack Cove Marina, a full-service marina and waterfront resort on the Sassafras River in Georgetown, Maryland.

SVN Marinas represented the seller and procured the buyer, an experienced marina operator with an established presence in the Chesapeake Bay market. The buyer also owns Georgetown Yacht Haven, formerly Georgetown Yacht Basin, a 300-slip full-service marina located nearby on the Sassafras River. David Kendall, CCIM, Josh Sheppard, and Brian Arnold advised the seller in the transaction. Brent Miller of SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate served as the Maryland Broker of Record.

The transaction was completed through a confidential, relationship-driven marketing process that combined direct outreach with SVN Marinas’ national network of qualified marina investors and operators. The buyer’s identity and the financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.

Set along a wooded stretch of the Sassafras River, Skipjack Cove Marina combines substantial marine infrastructure with resort-style amenities. The property includes approximately 359 covered and uncovered wet slips, dry storage, transient dockage, haul-out capabilities, fuel service, and essential boater facilities. An on-site restaurant, swimming pools, recreational courts, and waterfront gathering areas extend the property beyond traditional dockage and support both seasonal slip holders and visiting boaters.

Located in Cecil County, Skipjack Cove benefits from a protected setting with direct access to the Upper Chesapeake Bay. Its Georgetown location serves an established Mid-Atlantic boating market that includes Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, as well as the Baltimore, Wilmington, and Philadelphia metropolitan areas.

“The sale of Skipjack Cove demonstrates the value of a disciplined, targeted process for a specialized waterfront asset,” said David Kendall, CCIM, Managing Director of SVN Marinas. “By approaching qualified operators directly and managing the process discreetly, we connected the seller with an experienced buyer whose existing presence at Georgetown Yacht Haven, operating capabilities, and familiarity with the Chesapeake Bay market aligned well with the property. We are proud to have delivered a successful outcome while protecting the confidentiality of the parties.”

“Skipjack Cove is distinguished by its scale, protected location, full-service capabilities, and resort-style amenities,” said Brian Arnold, Senior Advisor with SVN Marinas. “Those attributes position the marina well within one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most established boating regions and generated interest from sophisticated operators seeking durable marine infrastructure and long-term growth potential.”

The closing further expands SVN Marinas’ transaction experience throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Chesapeake Bay region. Earlier this year, Kendall, Sheppard, and Arnold advised on the sale of Little Creek Marina, a full-service marina in Norfolk, Virginia. SVN Marinas is also representing Lighthouse Point Marina, a marina investment opportunity in Baltimore, Maryland.
